What is your risk tolerance

What do you define as a risk?

Do you think the higher the risk, the higher the reward?

The math is not always clear in a risky situation…

In 2017, when I graduated from the University of Waterloo with a BSc in Kinesiology, the only thing going through my mind was how to build a career as a visual artist…

Regardless if it was 1770, 1930 or 2024, being a thriving artist can be a difficult life.

ART is subjective, and explaining your art to the world can be challenging.

Position yourself in a manner where your work and experience does all the talking.

For anyone looking to be the 1% in their industry, you must put in the work everyday…

There is no secret sauce, just hard work and situational awareness so you can leverage your skills at the right time for unique opportunities.

So what does this have to do with risk tolerance?

Being a thriving artist is like being the 1% in any industry.

The only way to get to the top is to have a proper strategy made from past case studies, your experience and where you think the world is going next…

A combination of the past, present and future = creativity and innovation.

Hence, calculating risk can be difficult and the best way to mitigate risk is to cover a wide array of areas with talented humans or technology to monitor the ebbs and flows.

You cannot succeed in anything without a bit of risk and a shit ton of failure…

So learn from your mistakes and take those lessons to war on a daily basis.

Lastly, go to battle with the people you care about in life…

If you make it out together, the bond will be strengthened for the next time you go to war.

And the more battles you win together, it will increase your ability to go higher than ever.

So what is your risk tolerance, when do you mentally or physically give up and why?
